Winter Walk in West Sussex

@whymummywalks

This is a beautiful and flat walk around the Chidham Peninsula in West Sussex from South Sensation ambassador and all-round lovely lady, Frances from Why Mummy Walks. It’s an easy 10k but the caveat to this walk is that you MUST check the tide times before you set out. The section at Cobnor Point is impassable at high tide and there is no alternative route.

You can start by the church or the pub or sometimes you can find parking along the lane. Please park considerately. Winter makes an ideal time to do this walk as the wading and shore birds are plentiful and there are deer that pop up, and seals on warmer days. If it gets too muddy around by Chidmere Pond, you can just stick to the lanes

Post-walk refreshment from the Old House at Home is ideal with its lovely sunny garden or a log fire roaring tin the cold months. Plenty of Sussex ales on draft. It does get busy, though, so consider booking ahead.
