Hampshire is the new dining destination for 2023

It’s like we always say… you don’t have to go far to enjoy some really great food!

The AA has released its Restaurant Guide for 2023 and Hampshire’s been named one of the top 10 dining destinations in the UK.

The guide mentions over 1,400 restaurants which have all received coveted AA Rosettes, and 36 of them are located right here in Hampshire.

The book would make a great Christmas present for any foodies you know, or for those who travel often and like to explore new places.

Covering the whole of the UK, you can imagine how many new eateries we’ve added to our visit line-up – watch this space – but it was lovely to see that a few of our long-time favourites had also made the list.

Here’s a quick round-up of some of the restaurants listed right on our doorstep.

The 36 on the Quay in Emsworth

A truly charming restaurant with stunning views over the harbour and not one… not two… but three AA Rosettes.

Restaurant 27 in Portsmouth

The only restaurant in Portsmouth to hold two AA Rosettes – it’s a modern European serving lots of tasty veggie alternatives.

Blue Jasmine in Southampton

Asian cuisine with a fine dining twist. Not one we’ve visited, but it’s now been added to our list!

Greyhound on the Test in Stockbridge.

A personal favourite of ours – with lots of interesting dishes made with deliciously fresh, local produce.

The Briny in Southsea

Celebrating its first rosette, this one’s a gem for lovers of anything fishy. If you want to find out more about what it’s like to visit, you can read all about our experience in our blog here.

Solent Hotel and Spa in Fareham

This one has got quite the menu, with a wide range of food choices and a really cosy vibe.
