Jurassic Walk that’s well worth the effort

Here’s a glorious Dorset walk from Frances of @whymummywalks.

It takes you from Worth Matravers to Dancing Ledge and Chapmans Pool on the Jurassic coast: 9.3 miles

Here’s the walk from Frances:

Dorset may not have mountains but it does have some hills 🥵 Worth Matravers is a pretty Dorset village with parking, toilets, wonderful tearoom and a cracking pub. The Square and Compass serves some epic local ciders, has regular live music and even has a little fossil museum.

This walk is packed with things to spot; definitely don’t forget your camera, or water as there’s none en route. We did manage to top up with some from the fantastic volunteers at St Aldhelms head #Coastwatch but I don’t know if that’s a given. It was great to see the vital work these guys do, such a valuable resource 💙

To get to Dancing Ledge there’s a small scramble. There are quarry ruins to spot, hidden bays with great swim spots and fantastic views down the coast to Portland. The famous killer steps are at the end. We spotted seals and plenty of sea birds, and an abundance of wild flowers.

We finished off with an evening swim and fish and chips on the beach in Swanage.
