12 Mar Apples and wild garlic walk
This is a great all-year round walk of about five miles down quiet lanes and peaceful paths without pesky stiles. We discovered it from instagram thanks to Frances of why_mummy_walks.
The walk is totally dog-friendly and takes in stunning views of the Meon Valley and across to the Isle of Wight.
Parking near The Hunters Inn near Swanmore, the walk begins through the beautiful orchards of Hill Farm who make their own range of apple and pear juices, “lovingly squished in Hampshire”.
It then takes you on a peaceful meander on a route with plenty of wildlife, birds, rhododendrons and an abundance of wild garlic when it’s in season.
It’s an easy walk which is passable even in the depths of winter with only the sunken lane a little muddy.
